Dark Souls 3 Blacksmith Coal Location Guide

When you get the Coal, bring it to the Blacksmith to upgrade him.

Sages Coal
Warp to the Farron Keep Bonfire for this Coal. Go out into the swamp and look left to see a small island with a fire on it, clear the slugs and head there. Directly across from that you should see another small island with a fire on it, head there. Alright now you want to go next island, the one without the fire. This next part is a bit tricky to explain.

From the island you are on now you should see a wall to the left, another small island with a fire to the right and one of the Towers you need to put out, and in front of you should be a bunch of nasty looking trees with sacks hanging off of them and the poison swamp. We are going through there. On the other side of the swamp you will see a Tower and inside you can find the Coal. There is an Undead Knight protecting it so be ready.

Farron Coal
You might be able to get this one a bit earlier in the swamp but it’s easier to do it this way. Go to the Farron Keep Perimeter Bonfire and go down the stairs near the fire. Follow that path until you get to a metal door and open it. Through the door you should see a knight just standing, waiting, at the bottom of some steps. Go towards him but instead of going at him, take a right and go around him.

If you follow the path you can get behind the knight so you don’t have to fight him. At the end of the path behind the Knight you will find the Coal. The knight is really strong, killed me in two shots, so if you fight him be ready.

Giants Coal
Go to the Bonfire at Anor Londo to get this Coal. Head up the stairs and deal with the two knights patrolling around the area. Go to the left at the top and keep going until you go up some stairs and into a room. In the room there is a dead giant and he has the Giant’s Coal.
Profaned Coal
Warp to the Profaned Capital Bonfire to get close to these Ashes. You are going to need to head back across the bridge like you are going back to the dungeon. The Coal is in the room with all the enemies with Poker Sticks. They are annoying to fight but not difficult. When they use their magic and they are leaning towards the floor they are defenseless. Run up and kill them while they do that. You just need to wait for your HP to refill back to its maximum. The Coal is on the left side of the room near the entrance.

I am updating this as I go so check back soon for updates!
