Dark Souls 3 Guide: Burial Gift Guide

Dark Souls 3 Guide: Burial Gift Guide
Dark Souls 3 has nine different Burial Gifts you can choose from at the start of the game. Some of the items are explained but others just give vague descriptions. Check out this Dark Souls III Burial Gift Guide to help you make your starting choice.

Best Burial Gift In Dark Souls 3

The best gift is really dependent on you. There isn’t something super amazing that you can get now that is going to become some all-powerful item later. Most of these items are meant for early game or for PVP. You can also go with no gift for whatever reason, you don’t get any bonus for doing that.

Life Ring
The Life ring will give you more Max HP as long as you have it equipped. You will gain a 15% boost to your Max HP while the ring is equipped. This is something you could use for a long time depending on how long it takes for you to find 4 rings. That said, the ring isn’t super great compared to some of the others you find later in the game. Again, these are just meant as early game perks not late game buffs.
Divine Blessing
Warm, blessed Holy Water. This item will fully heal you and cure any ailments you have like poison or frostbite. You will only get one if you choose this gift.
Hidden Blessing
Pure, blessed Holy Water. This item will fully restore your FP which is your mana bar basically. They only give you one if you choose this gift.
Black Firebomb
Firebomb charged with a special black powder. You can throw these at enemies or explosive barrels to help you clear rooms. This one doesn’t make a ton of sense because you find so many fire bombs throughout the game. You get five if you start the game with this item.
Fire Gem
Material used to upgrade to fire weapons. You can use this to improve or add fire to your weapons. You do need to find the Coal and give it to the blacksmith before you can use it though.
Sovereignless Soul
The Sovereignless soul of one who slept beside you. When you use this you will gain 2000 souls. You should wait until you can level up to use it so you don’t lose the souls. This is a nice way to get a couple of extra levels early for anyone looking for an extra boost.
Rusted Gold Coin
Burial item for good fortune after death. When you use this you will get a great increase to you luck stat for a short duration. You will gain the increase to luck for about a minute and you get 7 coins so you get 7 minutes total of extra items. This would be the best choice for late game because that is when you will need to be farming the most.
Red Eye Orb
You can use these items to invade other players worlds later in the game. You will start off with four of them and you can find more as you play through the game. This is for the guys who want to PVP early in the game.
Young White Branch
This one is actually pretty funny. You can use this item to blend in with the surrounding area. Basically you change into an item the fits the area. In the starter zone you turn into a tombstone but I have seen others such as a box. You can use this to sneak up on some enemies or to try to hide during PVP.
