Want to go fishing? This How To Fish In My Time At Portia fishing guide will tell you everything you need to know to get starting in the world of angling including how to make your first fishing rod, how to snag your first catch and what’s the best thing to do with your fish.
How To Fish In My Time At PortiaFirst thing’s first, you need your rod. When you start the game you already have a Beginner’s Fishing Rod recipe. It requires 15 Wood, 2 Wild Cocoons and 1 Copper Bar. The ingredients themselves are very easy to obtain. Wood can be found from picking up piles of sticks on the floor, or chopping down small trees. Wild Cocoons are a possible reward when kicking a large tree. Run around for 5-10 minutes giving each large tree you see at least a couple of kicks, you shouldn’t struggle finding the Wild Cocoons. The Copper Bar is made from placing Copper Ore in the Smelter, again a simple task.
Once you have your rod, you need to find out where to fish.

This particular location is a short distance walk from the bridge you have to build. There are also other fishing spots further upstream near the waterfall. You also need Bait in your inventory to catch fish. You can find Caterpillars when harvesting nodes on the ground such as Herbs and Plants.
How To Catch Fish In My Time At Portia
The mini-game may seem a little confusing at first as it’s a little out of the ordinary. When you cast your rod a red ! will appear over your head. Press Left Mouse Button to begin reeling in the fish. You will notice a colored orb floating around the fish, it’s usually red or white. This is your cursor. You need to keep the orb on the fish while reeling it in. Be careful not to go over the white horizontal line on the tension bar, too much over and the fish will escape. Keep your cursor on the fish, reel it in, job done. You can either sell your fish, hand them in for contracts or cook them up.
