There are dozens of unique and powerful Followers that you can recruit to your cause. Each graded on a rarity. Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. Most of these are commonly found throughout the game but the Epics and especially Legendary, are more difficult to locate. Below is a list of a few tips to help you track down some Legendary Followers so you can recruit them.

How To Get Legendary Followers In Middle-Earth: Shadow Of WarThe Nemesis system in Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War means each play through is unique, it’s different. This means when you locate a Legendary Follower, it won’t be in the same place, or even the same Follower as other players. While this makes it impossible to tell you exactly How To Get Legendary Followers In Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War, there are some general techniques that work well and have a good success rate.
The arena Fight Pits can be a fantastic way of bolstering your forces. You unlock them after you take down your first Fortress. You pit one of your Followers against a random enemy. The victor gets some experience points and an item, the loser dies. While this is a great way to level Followers fast, it can also be used to recruit new Followers. Send in lower level Followers that you don’t care about, especially in the higher difficulty settings. Let them die and them jump in at the end of the fight to Dominate the victor. While not always Legendary, I’ve got some of my best Follower’s doing that. Be sure to check out our Fight Pits guide for easy win strategies.
Every Fortress you encounter has an Overlord and nearly all of them will be Legendary. That’s where I got the guy featured at the top of this page. Even lower leveled Fortresses can have Legendary Followers at the helm so be sure to check them all out. We’ve got a guide on how to defeat any Fortress if you’re struggling.
Intel is much easier to obtain in Shadow of War. You can literally run through a camp, quickly Dominate all Intel enemies and leave. You can obtain Intel on 10-15 different enemies within 5-10 minutes. This not only allows you to learn the weaknesses of your enemies but it also reveals their rarity. Identifying what targets to kill and what Legendary Followers to Dominate is key if you don’t want to accidentally take out a great addition to your army.
Play Out Rivalries
My strongest Legendary Followers came from playing out rivalry situations. The key to this is one thing: You do not want to win every fight. For example. If you kill an enemy and later down the line they return, Escaped Death, don’t kill them. Shame them a couple of times and run with it. Sometimes they return with much better abilities and a higher rarity rank. When an Uruk kills you don’t instantly go for revenge, lose another fight or shame them a couple of times. The outcome is random and not always positive but it’s a great way of experiencing the full depth of the Nemesis system.
What Is The Difference Between Rarity Types? When you inspect a potential Follower, such as you would at the Fight Pit, you can check their rarity in their name or via their perks. The rarer a Follower is, the more special perks they can have. These are displayed with orange text. Legendary Followers can have up to two of these unique perks.
