Grand Theft Auto V Stats Guide: How To Level Up Fast

Grand Theft Auto V Stats Guide: How To Level Up Fast
Each of the characters in Grand Theft Auto V boast their own set of unique skills and abilities. This Grand Theft Auto V Stats Guide: How To Level Up Fast will give you information on each characters stats and abilities as well as tips on how to level them quickly. It is worth noting that although some of the characters share almost identical abilities they still level separately. As such you will need to repeat some activities on regular basis if you hope to achieve max level with all of the skills. Below we’ve highlighted the skills available to each character as well as some general tips and tricks to increase leveling speed.

Grand Theft Auto V Stats Guide: How To Level Up Fast: Michael

Grand Theft Auto V Stats Guide How To Level Up Fast Michael

Special: Improving Michael’s special will allow him to use it for longer, and do more damage. The more you utilize the specials the more the skill increases. Just activating their specials do nothing, but performing appropriate actions during the specials will increase the skill (I.E. Franklin driving on wrong side of rode and near misses or both while special is activated will increase the skill.)

Stamina: Michael can run, swim and bike better with increased stamina before losing health. The fastest way to level up stamina is doing the triathlon events. Check our Freaks & Strangers mission guide.

Shooting:Upgrading the shooting skill allows players to decrease recoil, improve damage and other bonuses. Shooting generally levels as you progress, as with most of the other skills. However, there are a few missions you can get early on to increase your potential with the shooting skill. The Freaks and Strangers side quests can be a great way to level outside of the main story. Early on the quest Grass Roots unlocks shortly after you get the ability to control Michael. Headshotting the aliens with the mini-gun will get your shooting to 80/100 by itself. Purchasing more reliable guns can also help with the increased accuracy for easier headshots. Check out Grand Theft Auto V weapons list for more information.

Strength: Strength offers a variety of benefits including faster climbing, more damage, more defense and better abilities and sports and other side activities.

Stealth: The stealth ability allows Michael to move faster when in stealth mode and make less noise. This is leveled by performing stealth take downs and using stealth mode. Stealth seems to be quickly leveled by simply following people in stealth mode. I just followed people around the city. Keep in mind, if they are turning their heads to look at you, you’ve been noticed (duh). Something interesting I took recognition of: The more people you stalk at once, the faster you level stealth. I think it may have took me like an hour with Franklin and like 15 minutes with Michael. Didn’t do Trevor. Fell asleep.

Flying: Improving the flying skill will allow Michael take off, land and manage turbulence easier depending on the level of the skill. Complete Flight School challenges and pilot aerial vehicles to improve this skill.

Driving: The driving skill allows Michael to pop wheelies easier and land bigger jumps. This skill generally levels when performing most actions and stunts while using a vehicle

Lung Capacity: Allows Michael to stay under water for longer and swim faster. Level this up by diving and swimming with Michael

Grand Theft Auto V Stats Guide: How To Level Up Fast: Franklin

Grand Theft Auto V Stats Guide: How To Level Up Fast: Franklin

Special: Improving Frankin’s special will allow him to use it for longer. This is a very easy ability to level and you should have 100/100 before switching to Michael. When using the ability simply drive on the wrong side of the road and get as close to traffic without colliding.

Stamina: Franklin can run, swim and bike better with increased stamina before losing health. The fastest way to level up stamina is doing the triathlon events. Check our Freaks & Strangers mission guide.

Shooting:Upgrading the shooting skill allows players to decrease recoil, improve damage and other bonuses. Shooting generally levels as you progress, as with most of the other skills.

Grand Theft Auto V Stats Guide: How To Level Up Fast: Trevor

Grand Theft Auto V Stats Guide: How To Level Up Fast: Trevor

Special: Improving Trevors’s special will allow him to use it for longer. Players can level this ability by taking more damage, killing enemies and maintaining high speeds when using vehicles. The more you utilize the specials the more the skill increases. Just activating their specials do nothing, but performing appropriate actions during the specials will increase the skill (I.E. Franklin driving on wrong side of rode and near misses or both while special is activated will increase the skill.)

Stamina: Trevor can run, swim and bike better with increased stamina before losing health. The fastest way to level up stamina is doing the triathlon events. Check our Freaks & Strangers mission guide.

Shooting:Upgrading the shooting skill allows players to decrease recoil, improve damage and other bonuses. Shooting generally levels as you progress, as with most of the other skills.

Flying: Improving the flying skill will allow Trevor take off, land and manage turbulence easier depending on the level of the skill. Complete Flight School challenges and pilot aerial vehicles to improve this skill. Trevor starts with very high flight skill so it’s easy to get 100/100. I grabbed a plane from the airfield during a story and took to the skies for about 10 minutes, job done.

Driving: The driving skill allows Trevor to pop wheelies easier and land bigger jumps. This skill generally levels when performing most actions and stunts while using a vehicle

Lung Capacity: Allows Trevor to stay under water for longer and swim faster. Level this up by diving and swimming with Franklin

I’ll be adding more methods of leveling fast, to accompany the descriptions, as I discover better ways. If you want to make millions on the stock market, complete every Heist with ease, or unlock all the random events; check out our Grand Theft Auto V Walkthrough Guide Collection.

Hey. Sorry, I was expecting some of the side missions and techniques to actually have a decent effect on the stats and skills but sadly very few do. I played Tennis for about 45 minutes and got nothing. The very few techniques I do have are listed above. I’m still looking and will be sure to update if I discover any more. Thanks for your highly constructive feedback :0

Perhaps Don’t title the article “How To Level Up Fast” if it doesn’t include guides on “How To Level Up Fast”? – I’m with him mate, sorry. This article is arbitrary stuff that is mostly told to you during the tutorials, and isn’t even complete.

        • CaptainCamper

There are some minor techniques in the article. Our community also comes forwards with many suggestions to improve our guides. Think of it as a forum post, without having to search through the 100 pages as the article is updated on a regular.

          • John Doss

As if we couldn’t read the descriptions in the game. Waste of time. You presented how many techniques of quick stat leveling? Two? And community came up with… I’d hope at least one of the two considering you are supplying ‘them’ some credit. Hey, here’s a tip for shooting as it involves all players and 20 minutes at MOST: Shooting Range! :O You just fluffed the hell out of this post to make it look nice.
Complete waste of time coming here.

Doing the triathlons will max out Michaels stamina right off.

Stamina was easy, just being on foot & running around nearly got me there for each character, but thanks! Strength & stamina for tennis too. I’m guessing yoga helps stamina.

I am searching for methods to increase stats quicker guys. Was probably a bit premature writing the guide. Wanted to get the core info in place and update it. Sadly the skill system doesn’t play as much of a part as I thought it would 🙁

    • John Doss

Shooting Range and Flight School are the two absolute MAIN and QUICKEST ways of leveling Shooting and Flying. Stamina is more quickly leveled by sprinting until your life is nearly depleted and then right before you fall out, stop sprinting so you do not fall over, let it recharge and then immediately begin sprinting again and rinse and repeat. Driving is quickly leveled by grabbing an Adder and traveling at max speed on the highway around the map on the opposite side of the road performing near misses (20m MAX if you do NOT crash). Lung Capacity is quickly leveled by simply diving until your oxygen is nearly depleted, resurfacing and then diving again (50m MAX). Strength and Stealth are the absolute SLOWEST! Still haven’t discovered a fast leveling system for the two. I got here hoping for something on stealth. -.-

Stealth for Trevor was pretty easy in his missions vs. early enemies. That and when hunting, make sure to be in stealth… it adds up fast.

Franklins special and driving skill are both easily leveled up by stealing a nice car and driving it at top speeds then activating his special and driving in the opposite lane of te freeway and nearly avoiding collisions. Trevor’s special can be leveled up with his shooting ability at the shooting range. Once all the challenges are unlocked, click the heavy weapons challenge 3 and activate Trevor’s special while shooting the targets. Stamina can be done for all characters by running to missions/doing triathlons. Shooting can be done for all characters at the shooting range, strength can be done by fighting people in fist fights, stealth can be done by sneak attacking as many unsuspecting people as possible, flying at flight school, driving in street races or just with fast cars in the opposite lane ( motorcycles sometimes work better), bicycles that are driven in the opposite lane of traffic while barely avoiding traffic works on both stamina and driving at the same time, and just dive and swim around underwater for lung capaciy

    • Unfortunatly Strength and Stealth cannot be done properly when you have finished the game. As you get police on yo ass when you beat 2 people

      • bagheadinc

Sealth is easy, just go in a secluded spot and walk around in stealth mode. Couple of rubber bands make it an automated process. 😉

As for strength, this is annoying for Franklin due to a lack of tennis. There is a cow pasture near the Los Santos Customs property, you can punch cows without alerting the police. It still takes a while though (about 1% per 5 cows)

Anybody able to help? I have no idea how to level up the special stat for Trevor or Michael. I’ve seen a few things like “do stealth takedowns, headshots” etc. but as far as I can see, that only refills the special bar, it doesn’t improve the special stat. Any ideas?

    • John Doss

The more you utilize the specials the more the skill increases. Just activating their specials do nothing, but performing appropriate actions during the specials will increase the skill (I.E. Franklin driving on wrong side of rode and near misses or both while special is activated will increase the skill.)

    • Malt Mickey

When you get in any gunfight use Micheal’s & Trevor’s special abilities. Micheal gets bullet time like Max Payne and Trevor doles out more damage and takes less. It’s really not too hard. Do a few races & Franklin’s will go up too.

Sorry guys. We’re not a team of 100 writers that get paid by the word like the big boys. There was only really 2 of us covering this game and after spending several hours, with no noticeable improvements, I moved on to guide other aspects of the game. Thanks to those that have submitted extra tips and info, guide has been updated and your name has been credited.

Great article that says jack fucking shit… thanks.

I know what the stats are, and doing a quick breakdown of that is fine. But just copy and pasting the same crap for each character is stupid.

Nothing here tells anyone how to ‘level up fast’.

Keyword spam to get hits for your adrev. GLAD I USE ADBLOCK! LOL

    • CaptainCamper

Seeing as the skills are practically identical for each character, what else was I meant to do? lol

By all means, go find your guides elsewhere. Your inability to read the comments as well as the article is painfully obvious after making yet another pointless observation. Yes, the article was not as helpful as I’d originally hoped but we’ve got 2 dozen others on GTAV that are doing great. Sadly not everything works as planned all the time.

I edited my comment, I didn’t read further below so don’t get pissy.
