There are two types of locked containers in Borderlands 3. This guide on How To Open Locked Containers In Borderlands 3 explains how you open the large, more ornate looking containers with the T symbol on the front, they are much larger locked containers than the others.
This guide is specifically for the container featured in the image above. There are other locked containers also. Some of these are story related, or side mission related, others may require some sort of key. We’ll be sure to update once we figure out how to unlock all containers.
How To Open Locked Containers In Borderlands 3The locked containers, the large more ornate ones, can only be unlocked by completing Challenges. For example, The Drought Crew Challenges has you searching for several Typhon Logs. Once you have found all of the Typhon Logs you get the Dead Drop Crew Challenge unlocked on your map.
That’s what these large containers are for. They are the source of the Dead Drops. You can discover them as you explore but unfortunately, you cannot open them without finding the Typhon Logs first.
