Where To Tame Horses In The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The WildYou can find your first set of tameable horses here on the map. These range in stamina but the easiest ones to catch have two stamina.
You need to sneak up behind a horse and hop on it in under to tame one. The basic ones won’t try to knock you off but the ones with higher stats will try to buck you off. You will need higher stamina to get the higher level horses. Horses with spots are the easiest to train and the single color horses are harder to train, they do have better stats though. When you mount one and it struggles you have to sooth it in order to tame it. You can cheese it a little bit by eating food while on the back of a horse. If you have Stamina recovery food you can get a higher level horse early by eating a lot of that. If the bar drops down to the bottom you are kicked off even if you eat food to restore you stamina so try to do it right when you get to red stamina.
Now when you have a horse you can drop it off a stable to claim it. Here you can name it and check out what stats it has. I am not sure if you can level up the stats yet because I just got my horse but I will update it as I go. Your horse won’t trust you right away and sometimes it will go the opposite direction you want it to go or slow down for no reason. To stop this from happening you need to gain trust on your horse. To do this you need to Sooth your horse when it starts to get a bit wild. If it starts going off in a direction you don’t want it to, sooth it and it will be happy. If you sooth it enough and at the right time you will max the bond and the horse will always listen to you.
