The Outer Worlds Faction Quest Guide

The Outer Worlds Faction Quest Guide
Faction Quests are one of many different types of quests and activities in the game. This The Outer Worlds Faction Quest Guide focuses on how to unlock the many different faction quests in the game as well as other useful information including help on completing them and rewards.

The Outer Worlds Faction Quest Guide

Space-Crime Continuum (Groundbreaker)

You unlock this Faction quest after completing The Salvager in the Sky Task. Head back to the Unreliable and navigate to Monarch, the Stellar Bay Landing Pad. When you get there, follow the objective to the body and loot it. Head to Fallbrook and speak with Catherine. More simple objectives, until you reach the lab.

If you lack the skills, you can force the terminal to vent the gas at the end of the mission but it does make the lab hostile to life. Make sure to you find the special weapon for Weapons From The Void side quest first.

The Ice Palace (Groundbreaker)
After you complete Space-Crime Continuum, Lilya will give you this quest. When you arrive on the station and eventually have the UDL ship dock, you can pretend to initiate the self destruct, that will cause the UDL captain to flee. If you want to avoid losing Board Reputation, there is a blank keycard in this room, you can use it on the nearby terminal.

The Ice Palace

The Chimerists Last Experiment (Groundbreaker)
After you complete The Ice Palace you receive this quest. When you arrive at the lab, you learn there is no alien conspiracy. There’s a cover-up at work, the decision is ultimately down to you. I told the doctor to work with us, you lose Board Reputation and fail that particular objective of this mission. When you return to Lilya, she’s upset, you lose rep with the faction. Either way it’s the end of the SubLight quest chain.

This mission is likely to influence events much later in the game, so choose carefully.

BOLT With His Name (Monarch)

You get this in Stellar Bay, speak with Sanjar and he’ll ask you to do this quest. When you arrive at the facility, there’s a computer inside. IMPORTANT: Make sure you read all the files before you delete them, it’s for a decision much later in the area. They paint Sanjar in a positive light. Head upstairs, interact with the door and Hux tells you there’s a key nearby. Grab it off the corpse to open the door.

You get reputation with the Iconoclasts when you rescue the girl. Go inside, get the item, return to Sanjar. You get 15k XP, Bits, MSI Elite Helmet, Monarch Stellar Industries Reputation.

Errors Unseen (Monarch)

This quest is unlocked after you complete BOLT With His Name. Head to Fallbrook and speak with Catherine. Then head to the next objective and go into the Smuggler Tunnel. Watch out for traps in the tunnel. Shoot the mines, the tripwires can be disabled by shooting the machines on the roof of the cavern. When you meet Arthur, heal him up for some SubLight Salvage & Shipping reputation. From there, it’s simple objective tracking. You are not able to save the scientists.

The Commuter (Monarch)
The Commuter
Speak with Graham at Amber Heights. When you reach the objective and free Carlotta, you can take either additional food or high-capacity data cartridges. IMPORTANT: There is a huge choice at the end of this planet, if you want a third part of that choice, you need to choose Zora’s request, the additional food.
Pay For The Printer (Monarch)
After you complete The Commuter, you get this Faction Quest. When you meet the group, tell them you will fix the printer after they leave. They will tell you to find the medic, it’s to the right of the main entrance. From there, just follow the objective. IMPORTANT: There is a huge choice at the end of this planet, if you want a third part of that choice, you need to fulfill Zora’s request, save the crew.
Canids Cradle (Monarch)
At the very end of Monarch, when you activate the tower in story, a ship crashes. Follow the objective and grab the Module. You choose who to give it to. Check out our guide on who to give the module to in The Outer Worlds for more details.
