Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Tiger Tiger Guide
Want to beat Tiger Tiger? This Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Tiger Tiger Guide explains the basics of the mini-game, including some tips and tricks on how to get through each level, what you use the Ether for and what other treasures await you.
As you progress through the story you will eventually unlock a new partner and the Poppi Blade. As an artificial Blade, she upgrades in a different way. Instead of using cores you use equipment gained through the mini-game Tiger! Tiger! You can play the mini-game inside Tora’s House, interact with the computer terminal there.
It’s a very basic mini-game. A vertical scroller where you collect different items. The blue crystals are Ether Crystals. You use Ether Crystals to upgrade certain parts of Poppi in the Poppiswap menu. You can also collect treasure chests. These treasure chests include Part Types that can be directly equip to Poppi to provide various bonuses and stat increases. Each Part Type needs a certain amount of energy, you can upgrade energy with Ether Crystals so that Poppi can hold more upgrades.
The Tiger! Tiger! mini-game itself is very simple, but the game misses a vital mechanic during the tutorial. You can use A to use a grappling hook in any direction to defeat enemies. This works on nearly all moving enemies. It’s important as it lets you have more movement but it’s also vital to the end of the level. Once you reach the end of a level, grabbing the large treasure chest, the screen will move back up, quicker than normal. This can be easy or difficult, but if you kill as many enemies on the way down as possible, it’s a lot easier to go up. Especially if you focus on one particular side. If you collect all treasure chests on a stage, you get a large bonus of Ether Crystals.
You must complete a Stage before the next Stage is unlocked, however this is also tied to story progress so if you haven’t unlocked a new Stage, progress through the story and more will become available.
