Multiplayer Confirmed for Luigi’s Mansion 2
In the new rendition of Luigi’s adventure exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS there is confirmed Multiplayer games. This is exciting news for Nintendo fans that have waited a long time for online multiplayer to be available for a Super Mario game. From what the press release says, it looks like 4 players will be able to play through a special “Scarescraper” mode. That means 4 people solving puzzles, 4 people catching ghosts and 4 people using the elusive Poltergust 5000.
This new mode is kind of like a time trial/tower conqoring mode. Every player will be a different color Luigi and will have the objective of catching ghosts on every level of the tower. The tower will be timed, so players will have to work together to catch as many ghosts as possible before the timer hits zero. Hopefully there will be some interesting interactions between players to force co-operative play.
From the press release the mode sounds very interesting. Players will be able to choose how long the session is going to be, varying in the number of tower floors. Also, players will be able to adjust the difficulty of the play session, allowing for newcomers and hardcore fans a challenge that they can overcome. Working together seems to be the key. There is even a revive mechanic, so players will have to make sure to revive their friends to keep playing through the tower. Look for Luigi’s Mansion 2 in March 2013 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will cost $39.99 and will be available for digital download as well as in your local retail game shop.
