Pokémon Sword and Shield Sales Exceed 6 Million Units Worldwide

Millions of fans have been catching them all – Nintendo of America announced today that Pokémon Sword and Shield sales currently exceed six million units worldwide.

Not only are these two games the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch titles of all time, they also sold just over two million copies in the first two days in the United States. This makes it the highest-grossing launch of any Pokémon game.

According to Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Nick Chavez:

“This past weekend, millions of people began their Pokémon journeys through the new Galar region. With such a momentous launch, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have proven to be two of the must-have games this holiday season.”

Pokémon Sword and Shield take players through the Galar region, and includes Max Raid Battles and Dynamax Pokémon.
