2024 continues to release banger after banger, and March looks to continue the trend in the wide world of video games. On that note, here are Gamers Heroes’ 5 best games of March 2024. Oh, and we won’t make you click through five pages to look at the entire list.

5 Best Games of March 2024

Dragon’s Dogma 2

A deep, explorable fantasy world awaits with the release of Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 in March.

In this action RPG, players will take control of a customizable Arisen that is tasked with destroying a demon. They are not alone in this mission; players can recruit two additional Pawns for their journey.

No matter what Vocation one may choose, a seamless open world split between the Vermund and Battahl kingdoms awaits. Trying everything together are emergent events, a dynamic day and night cycle, and other flourishes that utilize the RE Engine to its fullest.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will come out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 22.

The Thaumaturge

Players will be transported to early 20th century Warsaw with the release of Fool’s Theory and 11 bit studios’ The Thaumaturge.

Following the story of Wiktor Szulski, players will utilize the gift of thaumaturgy to overcome ethereal entities known as salutors.

In this full-fledged RPG, players will utilize turn-based combat as they set out to defeat foes with both human attacks and psychic strikes. One can approach situations in different ways, shaping their story and taming the power of Salutors along the way.

The Thaumaturge will come out for the PlayStaiton 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 4.

Unicorn Overlord

The latest title from Vanillaware (13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Odin Sphere), the turn-based RPG Unicorn Overlord by publisher Atlus West, is set to release this month.

Set on the fantasy continent of Fevrith, Unicorn Overlord follows the story of exiled prince Alain as he sets out to reclaim the throne. He is not alone in his pursuit; allied with a number of army units, he can take part in large-scale battles that feature real-time field movement and battles.

Unicorn Overlord was designed to channel the classic tactical games from the 90s. As such, everything features 2D art, armies can be outfitted with the help of services like blacksmiths, and strategy is key.

Unicorn Overlord will come out for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on March 8.

Rise of the Ronin

The latest project from Koei Tecmo, Team Ninja, and Sony Interactive Entertainment is the action RPG Rise of the Ronin.

Set in the final years of the Edo period, players will be thrown into the Boshin war as they side – or fight various characters.

Players will take control of a masterless samurai, taking the mantle of a Ronin that has to make careful choices through its system. A complex combat system also awaits, letting players use close-quarters weapons or authentic period firearms.

Rise of the Ronin will come out for the PlayStation 5 on March 22.

Pepper Grinder

A drillable world awaits with the release of Ahr Ech and Devolver Digital’s Pepper Grinder.

With a trustry drill sidearm at the ready, players will explore the pirates life as they steal back their treasure from the Narlings.

New drill bits tie into progression and puzzles, while jewels can be cashed in for power-ups that open up new paths.

Pepper Grinder will come out for the PlayStation 5 and PC on March 28.

Casey Scheld

Casey Scheld has more than 15 years of experience in the gaming industry as a community manager, social media director, event specialist, and (of course) gaming editor. He has previously worked with gaming start-ups like Raptr, publishers like Konami, and roller derby girls at PAX West (check out Jam City Rollergirls)! Gamers Heroes is a passion project for him, giving him a chance to tap into the underground side of gaming. He is all too eager to give these lesser-known heroes of the indie space the attention they so rightly deserve, seeking out the next gem and sharing it with the world. Previously making appearances at events like CES, GDC, and (the late) E3, he is all too happy to seek out the next big thing.
