Spring has sprung, Easter is almost here, and a number of great games are set to launch. On that note, here are 5 games we’re looking forward to in April. Oh, and we won’t make you click through five pages to look at the entire list.
5 Games We’re Looking Forward to in April
Gal*Gun 2
Described as a “full-frontal sequel” by developer PQube Games, Gal*Gun 2 has you fighting off waves of ladies with the Pheromone Shot and using new gadgets to expel demons from their bodies.
Sure, it’s absolutely shameless, but we can appreciate its absurdity. We’re especially looking forward to updating our in-game schedule to receive jobs and unlocking new missions and story scenes.
Gal*Gun 2 will come out for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 24, 2018.
The Swords of Ditto
OneBitBeyond and Devolver Digital’s new action RPG The Swords of Ditto takes the top-down mechanics you love from games like The Legend of Zelda and Crusaders of Centy, and shrinks it down into something a bit more compact.
What’s especially unique is that the game creates a unique adventure for each new hero as they take on the evil Mormo. Players can either go solo or bring a friend in its local co-op mode, and sequence breaking is available. We’re especially interested to see how each adventure becomes its own legend, which should add to its replayability.
The Swords of Ditto will come out for the PlayStation 4 and PC on April 24, 2018.
Extinction
Staying true to its name, Iron Galaxy and Maximum Games’ Extinction will have players facing off against armies of massive 150 foot tall ogres and their blood-thirsty minions in an effort to save humanity from extinction. As one of the last remaining Sentinels, the soldier Avil will set out to take down these Ravenii. Being described by the development team as having a “fast, fluid feel” and “absolutely relentless,” we’re looking forward to taking on its campaign and side missions.
Extinction will come out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 10, 2018.
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
The latest chapter in Kazuma Kiryu’s life, SEGA’s Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is the best-looking entry in the series to date. Players will set out to discover what happened to Haruka, and will also do a lot of brawling in the process. We’re looking forward to exploring both Kamurocho and Onomichi, and also playing its many minigames.
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will come out for the PlayStation 4 on April 17, 2018. You can read our review here.
God of War
Developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, God of War takes the series in a new direction. Loosely based on Norse mythology, series mainstay Kratos now uses the magical Leviathan Axe. The game will also pull elements from role-playing games, and Kratos’ son Atreus will provide assistance during gameplay. We’re looking forward to seeing what this new direction will mean for the series.
God of War will come out for the PlayStation 4 on April 20, 2018.
