Dress Like a Pokemon With Polyvore

Casual Pokemon Cosplay Polyvore - Gamers Heroes (1)

Do you want to be the very best, like no one ever was? Does your love for Pokemon know no bounds? If you’re a huge fan of Pokemon, but want to show off your love for the little pocket monsters subtly, the clothing store Polyvore might have the answer.

The folks at the Japanese site Naver Matome, fans of both Pokemon and Polyvore, have come up with a way to cosplay as Pokemon. Dubbed their “Casual Cosplay” line, they have custom outfits designed around the original 151 Pokemon (and Ash Ketchum). Pikachu and Charmander might seem like obvious picks, but less-mainstream Pokemon like Mr. Mime and Kakuna are covered as well. All of these costumes are achieved with clever use of makeup, accessories, and standard clothing pieces. While these costumes might be designed around those with an extra X chromosome, they are still fun to admire nonetheless.

Casey Scheld has more than 15 years of experience in the gaming industry as a community manager, social media director, event specialist, and (of course) gaming editor. He has previously worked with gaming start-ups like Raptr, publishers like Konami, and roller derby girls at PAX West (check out Jam City Rollergirls)! Gamers Heroes is a passion project for him, giving him a chance to tap into the underground side of gaming. He is all too eager to give these lesser-known heroes of the indie space the attention they so rightly deserve, seeking out the next gem and sharing it with the world. Previously making appearances at events like CES, GDC, and (the late) E3, he is all too happy to seek out the next big thing.
