In order to unlock the Master Craftsman tab you have to complete the quest Master Craftsman. You can start the quest at the location marked above, however, you must have completed the main story before the quest becomes available. This include repairing the Cloud Catcher and then find all of the hidden letters. Once you’ve completed the main part of the game the Master Craftsman appears and gives you this quest. I had already joined the other guilds so I cannot be certain but it’s possible you may have to unlock them all first.

You need to find the following items:

  • 2x Haberdashery
  • 2x Leather Stripes
  • 2x Cloth
  • 1x Purple Dye

The majority of the items are easily obtainable with the exception of Purple Dye. You are not able to craft this dye, unlike the rest of them. I searched every trader but was unable to find anywhere that stocked Purple Dye. The only way I found of getting it is to become a Master Brewer. You have to join the Brewer’s Guild and then complete the quest to create 1000 worth of items. Then you can craft Red Dye and Blue Dye to mix with Brewers Kit, Clay Pot and Moonsilk Flower to make the Purple Dye.

After you return to Old Hurly with the Purple Dye and other items, you will need to make a Purple Canvas Rucksack – basic ingredients so it shouldn’t be a problem.
