Borderlands 2 Guide: Wilhelm Boss Guide

Borderlands 2 Guide

Wilhelm is apparently the right hand man of Handsome Jack. After you sabotage the train you will face of with this machine. Apparently he beat all the old heroes already so now it is up to you. Let’s get started.

Wilhelm DESTROY!

First thing you should know is fire is very INEFFECTIVE against him. I had a flame sniper rifle and it was doing 1 damage. I didn’t have electricity but I imagine he is weak to that.I will tell you his moves first so you know what to expect in the fight. He starts with no shields. After he spawns and you damage him a repair bot will pop up. DESTROY IT! If you kill it before his shield is restored you can kill him quicker! After you destroy it you can free attack Wilhelm again. He will do this multiple times during the fight but the first one caught me off guard. He will pick up parts of the trains and tiny robots will spawn from them. They try to get close and use a melee attack on you. Basically there hands turn into saw blades and they push into you. It was weird I could kill them at first but right at the end two became invulnerable.

If that happens just run and focus on Wilhelm. He will also sit still and launch missiles off his back. I kept strafing and dodged these. I am the commando and have the movement speed upgrade. If they are an issue watch them and dodge them.He can also come up to you can melee you.So as stated above right at the start of the fight he will spawn a repair bot. Kill it and damage Wilhelm. He ran at me and punched at me until I brought him down about 10%. Then he ran over to a train car and tossed it up revealing a few robots. The little robots will try to get in close to you. Pick them off unless Wilhelm is getting healed. DO not let them get close they do some pretty good damage and can swarm you.At this point he will likely be getting another bot to heal himself. The heal bots take priority. Just outrun the little robots and pick off the healers.

If Wilhelm closes in to melee you then hurt him.Once at about 50% he started to launch missiles at me. This was a great time to damage him. Also to toss your grenades at him. I had the ones that made him purple. It took three to make it actually stick but after that I was able to take chunks of his hp for a few shots. This really made the fight easy for me. Just keep strafing and the missiles should not hit you. After the missiles he was really low for me so I just killed him off.

If you dodge the missiles, focus the healing bots, and avoid being swarmed by the little robots you will be fine. That will end the Borderlands 2 Wilhelm boss guide. If you think I missed something leave a comment! The fight was over really quickly for me so I might have missed something.
