At the start of Adventure Mode you get a choice on what Fighter to unlock. This Choose Sheik, Marth Or Villager In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate guide will help you make that decision as once you make a choice of one of the three characters, the other routes become locked and thus, those Fighters cannot be fought.
After a few Spirit Battles in Adventure Mode, you reach a crossroads on the map. At these crossroads you are given the choice of fighting three different Fighters. You can only choose to fight a single opponent. Once you make your choice, the other two routes become locked and cannot be explored until much later.
While the initial choice is obvious, you unlock Sheik, Marth or Villager, the routes that follow are not as obvious but they also contain different Fighters you can unlock depending on the route.
Choose Sheik, Marth Or Villager In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Once you reach the crossroads and you make your choice between the three Fighters, you will have to complete at battle. As normal, once you defeat a Fighter in battle, you will unlock either Sheik, Marth or Villager, depending on which one you decide to fight. - Unlock Olimar (need mushroom ability)
