You will have to fight your way through a group of enemies in the alleyway to get the key. Once you have it, return to the storage room and open it up. On your way back, the corpse pile in the alley will form one of those giant creatures with the saw. Kill it or skip it, your call. If you want to avoid it, just run past while it is forming and it will lose track of you. The supply closet has numerous resources but the most important item is in the back. Open up the chest on the floor and you will find a new Shotgun. This is the Full Barrel Shotgun and it has more range than your sawed-off Shotgun. Be sure to check the wall for a guy that got stabbed by an axe before you leave as well.
