Base construction is one of the games best features but it doesn’t take long to run out of space. This guide will tell you How To Expand Your Base In Metal Gear Survive so you can make room for all the new equipment and farming options that you eventually unlock.
Depending on how much side content and exploration you do, you may find yourself feeling a little claustrophobic around Chapters 9 and 10. While you’ll struggle to run out of space completely, you may find it difficult to balance your defensive structures with those you need to farm food and other valuable items.
You need to progress through the main story until you reach Chapter 14. During this Chapter you will be informed of another imminent attack on your base. This is where you can access the Construction Menu and you’ll find a new section here.
In that new section there is a Base Expansion option. This builds a new raised platform around your entire base. However, it may not allow you to build it initially. You have to use the Deconstruct tool to remove the partial raised platforms that are already in place, and all of the jump and lumps of metal blocking its construction.
Once you have cleared the area and you have the appropriate materials, you can construct the expansion and enjoy your much bigger base.
