How To Get The Ultima Blade In Final Fantasy XV

The Ultima Blade is one of the strongest weapons in the game. In terms of stats it’s actually the second strongest weapon, topped only by one hidden away in one of the games many secret dungeons. The actual process for obtaining the Ultima Blade is a rather simple one, completing a series of quests for Cid after finding specific items. This How To Get The Ultima Blade In Final Fantasy XV will tell you what you need to do to add this impressive weapon to your arsenal.

You cannot improve any of the upgradeable weapons in Final Fantasy XV until you find the Drain Lance during the story. You can’t miss it. Once you’ve got it the game introduces the upgrading mechanic. From then on you can take these special weapons to Cid and he will upgrade them in exchange for a rare item.

A Better Engine Blade

To complete the first stage of the Better Engine Blade quest you simply need to find a Rusty Bit. These are very common items found on the floor, with the glowing blue icons. By the time I had this quest in my quest log I had already obtained 10 so you shouldn’t have a problem completing the quest as soon as it becomes available.

A Better Engine Blade II

For the next stage of the quest you need to find a Glass Gemstone. This rare item can be found in a number of places. The easiest place to find one is atop a well near the Lighthouse at Cape Caem. Check just outside the large house before you reach the Lighthouse.

A Better Engine Blade III

The final quest for the Ultima Blade requires a Sturdy Helixhorn. This is another simple item to find. Head to Old Lestallum and choose the The Last Spiracorn Hunt. Head to the location and attack the horn of the biggest enemies for the Stury Helixhorn.
