If you want to increase your maximum Rage in God of War, you need to find Horns of Blood Mead. This God Of War Horn Of Blood Mead Location Guide will tell you where to find the different locations for all the Horn’s of Blood Mead so you can max out your Rage bar.
The Horn’s of Blood Mead work in a very similar way to Idunn Apple’s. There are special chests scattered throughout the game. Each is locked with a number of Seals, you must break the Seals in the nearby area before you are able to open the chest and claim your bounty.
The first Horn of Blood Mead can be found inside the room with the multiple spike traps in the ruins. Kratos needs to raise the spikes and jump across before helping the boy. Once you are across to the other side and climb up, the spikes will come down. Climb on top of them to find the chest.
The first Seal, as you look directly at the chest, is on the left. Hit the wooden board to lower the other spike trap and shoot the rune on top.
The other seal is easy to find. Directly opposite the chest through the hole. The final Seal, look up and around. Again, easy to spot.
This one can be found in the area with the dragon in South East Veithurgard. You can’t miss it if you’re exploring down there. Complete the dragon favor to free it and then destroy the Seals to open it.
After you meet and speak with the second dwarven brother. There’s a chest outside of the camp and up to the right. You will see a contraption behind the chest, you need to spin it to match the letters. There’s one at the chest, one near the dwarf’s camp and then one to the right of the dwarfs camp, as you exit. You need to stop the poison from the tree to see the symbol.
After you restore the main blue light bridge in Alfheim. You will learn that the door does not open. From the front of the door take the stairs down to the left. At the bottom you will see some plants blocking the chest. Destroy the plant outside and inside the room with a single throw to unblock the door. The Seal’s are all very close and easy to find.
Continue through the story until you unlock Light Arrows. Carry on and you will reach the other side of the blue door that will not open, there’s a sand alter on top. In this area is another sealed chest. There are three Seals as normal. Stand where I am standing above to get the first two and then 180 for the final Seal.
This one can be found inside the mountain in the darker area with all the light crystals. The chest is darkened, so you can’t actually seen the Seals. I opened it purely by accident. On the upper bridge you can see two of the Seals. The one below is the N Seal, the one high and up to the right is B and then rotate the final one until the chest opens.
This one is located inside the Witch’s Cave. You need to progress through the story until your objective is to return to the Witch with the head. Once inside the cave, before you head up the walkway to the Witch’s house, go down to the right. This was full of water before but now it’s lower. Jump across the gap and turn around, shooting all the crystals to make a few bridges pop up.
The left bridge leads to a chest and the N Seal. The right bridge leads to the chest and a bomb you can use. Use the bomb to clear the nearby rot and enter for the R Rune, there’s also a Hidden Chamber Door here. The final room is up at the main level. At the bottom of the ramp that leads to the Witch’s house. There’s more rot blocking the way. Clear it. There’s a well here you can climb to reach the exterior of the witches house. The final rune is part way up. Hard to miss.
The final Horn of Blood Mead can be found in Hel when you return a second time during the story. Just before you get to the boat, take the opposite path and push the big block down. Just ahead is the last chest. The C rune is behind the other nearby square block you can move. The N Seal is inside the large block. Move it to the gap so that you can shoot through the back of it.
The final rune is a tricky one. Out on one of the ledges, where the small chest is, there’s a pillar in the water. If you look at the left side, you should see a feint purple glow. Throw your axe at it for the final rune.
