Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Choosing The Red Or Yellow Gate
After reaching the gate to Helheim in Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, you are given a simple choice – the red or yellow gate. This Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Choosing The Red Or Yellow Gate guide will tell you the differences between the two gates, which is the easiest to do first and what else it impacts on your journey.
When you arrive at the gate to Helheim you participate in your first battle. A demon of shadow. Once you complete this introduction to the stories combat you’re given the choice between which gate you want to enter first. Below is information on what each gate includes.
Choose The Red Gate
The Red Gate has a few fights and about four rooms with the same types of puzzles. Basically, there are three glyphs that are separated in the areas. You need to get into a position that will allow you to combine them into the symbol on the door you are trying to go through. The trick to these is to find the gate with the skull on top of it that you can look through. It looks like you are just walking under an archway but it actually changes the area tiny bit. It will remove walls or add beams to let you access places you couldn’t before. This will allow you to get to the spot you need to combine the blue glyphs into the door symbol. At the end of this area, you will face a boss.
Choose The Yellow Gate
If you travel through the Yellow Gate first you’ll have to fight another shadow demon, and then solve another rune puzzle to open the door. (Check out our guide if you’re struggling on where to find the N and Y runes). There’s another fight with multiple enemies and then further door puzzles and enemy battles. The yellow gate is both more frustrating and more difficult to complete that the red gate so if you’re playing for the first time, I’d suggest going through the red gate first.
