A quick note on Outposts. Although you can build Outposts very early in the game, you cannot assign Crew members to Outposts without building the Crew Station at the Outpost. Only once a Crew Station has been constructed are you able to use a Crew member’s abilities at that Outpost by assigning that Crew members.
