How To Break Rocks In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl

HM Rock Smash Is No Longer Needed

Breaking rocks is required to get through certain caves in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Check out this guide to find out how to break rocks in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl. This way you don’t miss the item you need to do it.

How To Break Rocks In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl

You will need two things to break the rocks in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

First, you will need to get the HM Rock Smash on your Poketch app. You get this from a hiker in the cave at the end of Route 203, east of Jubilife City. He will tell you what it can do and then tell you to go through the cave and look for the gym leader.

You cannot use this move unless you beat the first gym. Of course there is a catch though, the gym leader is not in his gym right now. You have to go down south from his gym and find him in one of the mines down there. He isn’t super far in, but you will have to do a few battles to get to him.

Once he returns home you can fight him to claim the badge. The gym leader uses a lot of rock Pokemon on his team and so does his trainers in the gym. Be sure to bring water, grass, or fighting to counter that. When you can use the move, head up to a rock you can break and interact with it to bust it up.
