It’s worth noting that there are two different methods of crafting in Metro Exodus. The portable crafting uses the backpack, which is an item you receive at the Aurora after the lengthy introduction part of the game. The other method of crafting is uses Workbenches, which can be found on the Aurora and scattered throughout the game world.
How To Craft & Use Your Backpack In Metro Exodus
Once you have unlocked the backpack, you need to access it in order to craft while you’re exploring. It’s not as in-depth as the Workbench crafting, as you’re limited to what you can craft. You can craft Medkits, Filters, Primitive Ammo and Primitive Throwables. You cannot use your backpack crafting to clean weapons.You need to hold the wheel button. It’s L1 on PlayStation 4, LB on Xbox One. Once you are holding L1/LB, check the lower right corner of the screen. Here you will see your backpack under the lower option. To activate your backpack for crafting, simple hold L1/LB and press X/A.
