Only certain Primary Spirits in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate can be Enhanced. If you look at the top image in this guide, you will notice that Boom Boom has the “Can Be Enhanced at Lv.99” in the box where his ability would usually be, in the lower left. This means, if you raise this Primary Spirit to level 99, you will have the option to Enhance it, which is like evolving its stats.

As you can see in the image above, I raised Boom Boom to level 99 and then Enhanced it. It resets the Primary Spirit to level 1 but with greater attributes and a new ability. At level 14, before Enhance, Boom Boom had 767 Attack and 1150 Defense. After Enhance, Boom Boom became Boom Boom & Pom Pom, with an Attack of 1286 and Defense of 1510. A new ability, Hyper Smash Attacks was also added, and the Primary Spirit became a 3 Star Spirit, whereas it was a 2 Star Spirit before.
