The grind for the greatest exotics returns with Destiny 2. This guide will tell you How To Farm Exotic Engrams in Destiny 2 including the best way to to get Exotics, all the different techniques you can do to increase your chances and other tips and tricks.
Public Events & Heroic Events
These are some of the more fun ways of getting Exotic Engrams in Destiny 2. They are scattered throughout every planet and usually involve completing quick objectives for fairly decent rewards. The higher level you are and the higher level the event, the greater chance of an Exotic Engram. There is a much higher chance if you turn the Public Event into a Heroic Event. Story Campaign
Certain quests throughout the story campaign give a guaranteed Exotic. When you arrive on Titan and participate in the story missions there, you are given an Exotic Engram for your class guaranteed. There’s also a few others, such as when you complete the main story you’re given the Coldheart Exotic rifle. So progress through the story and complete all of the quests to get Exotics from there too.
Planet Missions
Every planet in Destiny 2 has a series of missions, marked by the blue crown, that often lead to Exotic weapons. Such as The Rat King sidearm on Titan. Once you’re level 20 and have completed the main story, be sure to visit each of the planets and do the quests to get the Exotics.
End Game Content
Strikes, Nightfalls and other end-game content has the highest chances of getting Exotics.
Xur
After Week Two Xur will appear on one of the planets at the weekend. You use Legendary Shards to purchase items from him, including Exotics.
