It’s less of a mount and more of a fast travel option, but not quite either. It’s available very early in the game, but not quite right at the beginning. How To Get A Mount In NieR Replicant Ver1.22
You want to speak with the old man just inside the castle-like area of the village. He sits on a small crate right next to the Item Shop. After speaking with him, you learn that a Wild Boar has been terrorizing the nearby region of Northern Plains. Head out of town to the North, to the Northern Plains, and find the location the Wild Boar.
The main quest objective will direct you toward The Aerie, but ignore that for now. You want to head towards the entrance to the Forest of Myth. Just before you enter the forest there is a raised bit of land to the West. You can jump up the sides or walk around, either is fine.
Atop this raised bit of land is the Wild Boar you seek. Defeat it in battle. This is a tough fight at the start, on any difficulty. If the boar hits you, it will likely kill you. Use your Dark Spear attack, L1/LB. It interrupts the boars charge and recharges faster than the boar attacks. It will take a couple of minutes hitting the boar but it’s the safest and fastest way to kill it.
Once you have completed this quest you will find sleeping Wild Boar’s outside of most major towns. You can then use them to get to other areas much quicker.
