The Antler Pickaxe is unlocked after you loot a Hard Antler for the first time. However, you cannot find these items simply from killing deer. You need to defeat the first boss. At the beginning of the game, when you spawn in the middle of all the standing stones, interact with the deer stone to have the enemy placed on your map. Then you need to hunt it down and kill it.

Upgrading the Workbench is easy. You simply need to find Flint for the first time. Once you’ve found Flint you will unlock a Chopping Block recipe with your Hammer.
