When you are exploring in Genshin Impact, you will notice many resources around the landscape. Usually they shine or are lit up with lights, making it clearly obvious what items you can gather and harvest. Resources have a lot of uses so there’s a good chance, at some point or another, you’re going to need a horde of each material for something or other.
How To Mine In Genshin Impact
When you eventually discover a mining node, you will notice that you cannot harvest it like you can other resources. You can try using basics attacks but this also has no effect on the rocks you can mine. Instead, you need to use your elemental attacks.
It’s R2 on the PlayStation 4 but you can check the lower right screen for the buttons on your platform. The elemental attacks take time to recharge so you can’t use it constantly, but you can usually harvest an entire node using a single ability – so it’s not difficult to harvest the nodes.
- Find mining nodes (rock-like objects that shimmer and shine)
- Approach the rock and get within melee range
- Hold the elemental attack button to launch an elemental attack
- Once the rock breaks you can harvest the Iron or other materials.
