Speaking with the Lynian Researcher at the new hub unlocks the Surveyor Set, which is basically a photo mode built into the game with various objectives related to the Lynians. For this introductory quest he asks “Make sure my face is well-centered and prominent enough”.
How To Photograph Lynian Researcher In MHW Iceborne
There are three key points to learning how to take this photograph.
- Firstly, pay attention to your zoom level
- Now make sure his face is centered
- Highlight the tip of his nose
As seen in the image above, that’s the exact location. Zoom in until its x3.4 zoom, then highlight the edge of his nose. If you are in the correct spot, a small icon appears. It’s challenging because his face is constantly moving so even if you get the perfect shot, if he moves, it’s a fail.
Get the zoom and location right, wait for the icon, then take the picture. If it fails, wait until just after he moves and says “You’ve done it again hunter”.
That’s all you need to complete the mission to use the Surveyor Set on the Lynian Researcher.
