Pokemon Let’s Go is slightly different from the original Pokemon games in the sense that Wild Pokemon are not battled. Instead, you can either decide to catch them or flee. Catching provides experience points for all your other Pokemon and also helps to fill out the Pokedex, so you’ll do a lot of catching. Which fills up your Pokemon bag fast.

How To Release Pokemon In Pokemon Let’s Go

Open your Pokemon Bag. From here you can select any Pokemon, but it must be one that is not in your party. Once you do that, you will notice a new menu pops up. If you select “Send to Professor” you can then select multiple Pokemon to send to Professor Oak. While this is not technically releasing, it does remove the Pokemon from your Pokemon Bag and also rewards you with Candy depending on the type and amount of Pokemon you’ve sent in total.
