Has one of your No Man’s Sky Expeditions resulted in a damaged Freighter? This guide will tell you How To Repair Freighters In No Man’s Sky Next so you can repair your ships, get your fleet back to full force and continue to explore the wonders of the galaxy.

If you have already obtained your free Freighter and you’ve got additional ships to partake in Expeditions, there’s a good chance you will eventually get a damaged Freighter. These are marked by red ship icons on your screen, but how do you repair them?

Firstly, locate your ship. If you call in your Capital Ship, all other ships will automatically follow. If your ship was damaged on a mission, you must go to the corresponding Fleet Control Room to request the Commander to return to base. Once they return to your Capital Ship, they will be marked with the red ship icon. Fly over to your damaged Freighter and press the landing button to board. Once aboard the Commander will contact you, offering to show you the Damage Report. Accept the report then request to mark the damaged terminals.

You will then see the damaged terminals highlighted on your screen. Simply travel to each of the terminals and repair them with the required materials. Sadly, there are a number of bugs here that are causing problems. There are a total of 5 different terminals on each ship, although the location is different depending on the ship model. Occasionally, a single terminal will bug, not appearing on screen and not allowing you to fix the ship.

Another problem is the required materials. These can change between different visits to the same damaged vessel. I’ve had the most success bringing a small quantity (25-50) of each of the materials I’ve seen used so far. If possible, try and bring a collection of the following.

  • Tritium
  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Platinum
  • Ferrite Dust
  • Pure Ferrite
  • Oxygen
