If your ship was damaged on a mission, you must go to the corresponding Fleet Control Room to request the Commander to return to base. Once they return to your Capital Ship, they will be marked with the red ship icon. Fly over to your damaged Freighter and press the landing button to board. Once aboard the Commander will contact you, offering to show you the Damage Report. Accept the report then request to mark the damaged terminals.

You will then see the damaged terminals highlighted on your screen. Simply travel to each of the terminals and repair them with the required materials. Sadly, there are a number of bugs here that are causing problems. There are a total of 5 different terminals on each ship, although the location is different depending on the ship model. Occasionally, a single terminal will bug, not appearing on screen and not allowing you to fix the ship.

Another problem is the required materials. These can change between different visits to the same damaged vessel. I’ve had the most success bringing a small quantity (25-50) of each of the materials I’ve seen used so far. If possible, try and bring a collection of the following.
