How To Switch In Ship
Whilst you are in your ship press “Down” on the directional pad. This will bring up a small options menu. Navigate to the left and find the “Utilities” menu, click to enter. Here you can scan for a trade outpost and also select “Switch Starship View” to change the perspective of your ship. For PC players, the button is X to open the menu.

How To Switch On Foot
If you are outside your ship, you can also switch perspective. Note: The perspectives remain regardless of the ship perspective. For example, if your ship is set to third-person and you vacate your vehicle, you will transition to whatever your foot perspective is set to.
