When you start your adventures in Night City, you’re automatically given your own vehicle to start. If you find yourself stuck, you can also fast travel or steal another persons vehicle – if you have the appropriate strength requirements to do so. It’s a bit random based on the people in the car so if you can’t steal the first vehicle you see, check another. You’ll have a fresh set of wheels in no time. If you want to unlock vehicles permanently however, it’s going to cost you – a lot.

So far, every vehicle we’ve unlocked, has been via a very specific set of missions, with one exception. The exception is unlocking the motorcycle. If we discover other exceptions, we’ll update this guide with more information on the locations of other vehicles.
As you progress through the game, reaching new regions and increasing your Street Cred, you will get the occasional phone call or message. These unlock a special subset of quests called “Rides”. There’s plenty on offer and you will unlock them naturally as you reach each new region for the first time and increase your Street Cred level. Unfortunately, most of them are very expensive, so if you’re looking to have a large collection of cars to choose from, you’re going to need to grind a lot of money.
