New World Fast Travel Guide

All aspects of New World's Fast Travel mechanics explained

There is a lot of open space in New World so understanding fast travel is vital for quick progress. This New World Fast Travel Guide covers everything you need to know about fast travel including fast travelling to inns, the unique blue resource called Azoth, and how you can fast travel to other areas of the world.

There are multiple methods of fast travelling in New World, and you will need to utilize them all if you want to minimize the time spent travelling. Especially as the story progresses. You’ll quite often find a 15 minute walk to an objective only to have to walk all the way back. The following forms of fast travel are available

  • Fast travelling back to an Inn (If you have a registered room)
  • Fast travelling to a camp (As long as you are within 500m)
  • Fast travelling to towns you have previously visited (and unlock the travel point)
  • Fast travelling to wilderness locations once discovered

All major towns have two main aspects you need to learn about for fast travel. Firstly, the Inn. Every major town has an Inn, you can register with the Innkeep and use the return fast travel once per hour (this is currently bugged at 700+ hours). You can only register at one Inn so if you visit a town and register there, you will no longer be able to travel back to the previous Inn for free.

The other important component is a fast travel location, every major town has one. They are very large blue pillars with a beam of blue light reaching into the sky. Whenever you visit a town, make sure you seek out the fast travel point. You can then visit any of these fast travel points and use them to travel to both fast travel points in other towns, and those out in the wilderness, which are found in the same way but this costs Azoth. The blue resource, Azoth, is rewarded quite commonly once you start progressing in the story. We’ll update if we can find more methods of farming it.

You can create a camp nearly anywhere and can fast travel to the camp for free as long as you are within 500m of the camp.

That’s everything you need to know about New World’s Fast Travel mechanics.

When he's not catching some Zs, you'll likely find him arguing points he knows nothing about, playing the latest rogue-like he'll never complete, or breaking something on the website that never needed fixing.
