Tainted Monsters are rare and powerful monsters in Ni No Kuni 2. This Ni No Kuni 2 Tainted Monsters Guide will tell you where to find all of the information on Tainted Monsters we’ve including details on the bounties and rewards associated with each Tainted Monster.
Ni No Kuni 2 Tainted Monsters GuideDuring Chapter 3 you will eventually encounter your first Tainted Monster. This is a basic tutorial section that covers the Tainted Monsters feature, providing you with a quick breakdown of the mechanics. It’s a pretty simple system. Tainted Monsters are much more powerful versions of monsters you fight during your travels. They have much higher HP, different attacks and do incredible amounts of damage.
You can find them scattered around the World Map, marked on the map by a purple icon with horns. If you check the Library Menu in Ni No Kuni 2 you will find a Tainted Monsters section. This includes information on currently sighted Tainted Monsters. You unlock more sightings as you progress through the game, with many being announced on Leafbook. Check your Leafbook posts regularly and if one comes in about a Tainted Monster, that Tainted Monster will be added to your Tainted Monsters Library.
The library also includes information on the Tainted Monsters threat level, representing its potential damage. You also get a rough location, the amount of experience points for victory, the money you will earn and any special item drops.
I cannot stress enough the importance of the Tactic Tweaker for these battles. What may seem like tiny benefits can be the difference between a near impossible battle and a total breeze. Check out our Tactic Tweaker guide if you’re struggling with the basics.
Ni No Kuni 2 Tainted Monsters Guide – Rewards
Tainted Monsters fall under a Bounty System in-game that rewards you with special bounties for ridding the world of Tainted Monsters. However, these bounties a cumulative, not specific for each monster. This means you are rewarded with bounties based on the number of Tainted Monsters you have defeated – not the specific ones you have killed.
