Trapped in space on a space station filled with terrifying alien lifeforms. You’re going to want to bring some friends. This Prey Weapon Upgrade Kit Location Guide will tell you where to find all of the Weapon Upgrade Kit’s that we’ve discovered so far so that you’re able to modify your weapons and improve your arsenal.
Weapon Upgrade Kits can be found throughout Talos 1. Some are easily obtained, others are hidden behind locked doors, within locked safes or tied up in intricate puzzles. Below is a list of all the Weapon Upgrade Kit’s we’ve discovered so far on an area-by-area basis.
On the first floor of the Talos 1 Lobby, check for the Security room. It can be found near the Shuttle Bay. When you enter the Security area you’ll find the door is locked. Look above and you’ll see some large metal pipes. Head back up the stairs, climb the metal pipes and enter the Security Office from there. You’ll find your first Weapon Upgrade kit inside.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 2
The second Weapon Upgrade Kit in the Talos 1 Lobby area can be found inside your office. Once you reach Morgan Yu’s office check the safe on the bookcase near his computer for the kit.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 3
Inside the safe found inside Psychotronics. You have to have level 2 hacking to get into the safe.
When you enter the Hardware Labs you’ll find a large telescope in the first room. Use the Gloo Gun to build up to the second floor, you’ll find a Weapon Upgrade Kit on a corpse on the floor above.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 2
Near the Security alarm, the metal detector type object, there’s a security room. It’s closed. Using the Huntress Boltcaster weapon, aim through one of the slots at the computer. You want to aim for the Utilities part on the screen. Shoot and the bullet will rebound, only took me a couple of shots but it rebounds off the computer screen into the door switch and opens the door.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 3
In the Atrium climb up to the 2nd level and search a body for another Weapon Upgrade Kit.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 4
In the Machine Shop. Check inside the Storage Room, you can use a hole in the ceiling to enter.
Inside the Security Booth in the Psychotronics map. Not the room in the lobby, the actual area on the map called Psychotronics. I never found a code for this one but you can break the glass with the Wrench and then you can use the Huntress Boltcaster to activate the PC Utilities section and unlock the door.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 2
Inside the Armory that can be found in the Material Extraction area. You need to enter the code 8714. There’s also a mission here where you get to decide if a prisoner lives or dies.
Inside the Magnetosphere Safe. You can find the Magnetosphere just off the Maintenance Tunnel. The code for the safe can be found in the bathroom on some shelves, behind some toilet paper. The code for the safe is 9754
Found inside Alex Yu’s Office. You can use the Gloo Gun to get up the gravity shaft.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 2
Inside the Storage AR01 Weapons Locker room. I used level 4 hacking to break in.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 3
Inside the Medical Bay near the entrance to Talos 1 Lobby there’s a vent. Go through the vent. In the next area is a wired cage area, you need level 3 Leverage to get in. There’s a Weapon Upgrade Kit next to the body inside.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 4
Inside the Security Room. You have to hack to get in, or use the Crossbow to activate the PC Utilities to open the door.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 4
Search Rodney inside the greenhouse for another Weapon Upgrade Kit.
Level 2 Deep Storage, inside the Command Center there is a safe. The Weapon Kit is in the safe. It’s a dynamic code so check out our list of all safe codes to find the solution.
Just after you place all the turrets and open the Cargo Bay door. There’s a room with tons of crates you can open. Check for the one labeled 7040 on the side. The Weapon Upgrade Kit is inside.
Weapon Upgrade Kit 2
In the same area but look for the crate marked 9171
Weapon Upgrade Kit 3
Another in the same area. Inside the crate marked 8120
Weapon Upgrade Kit 4
In the next room the G.U.T.S Cargo area. Search the crate marked 3376
