Red Dead 2 features many different hats, some more unique than others. This Red Dead Redemption 2 Special Hat Guide will tell you where to find the different special hats we’ve discovered on our journey so far, including a screenshot showing the exact location.
There are many, many hats in Red Dead Redemption 2. Many of these are common, often found at camps or on the bodies of your enemies. Others can be unlocked through various means, such as defeating all the Legendary Animals or finishing off Stranger missions. Alternatively, some can also be found scattered throughout the game world. These are slightly different as they are unique, they are stored in your wardrobe for later use, and they glow a special color when on the ground. As long as you collect the Special Hat at least once, you can equip it at camp at any time.
There is a large island to the West of the camp near Rhodes. If you get a boat, or you can purchase one for the boat, you can travel across. On the island, you will discover a small shipwreck. Inside the shipwreck, tucked away at the back, is this Special Hat.
Here in the western Elizabeth mountain area you can find an old cave. When you enter, use the dynamite plunger to create an opening for you to go down below. There is one body down there. You can get a new knife, a gold nugget and the Mining Cap off of him.
There are some strange ruins here on the map. It’s North West of Annesburg. There’s a small stone table with a Viking Hatchet but there’s also a small underground area. Search the underground tunnel and you’ll see the helmet sitting atop a stone shelf on the wall.
South West of Van Horn Trading Outpost, there’s a large building in Mossy Flats, Fort Brennand. Head to the fort. There’s a single hut inside, head into the hut and climb the ladder down to the basement. Huge thanks to Gary for the submission.
You can find this Special Hat at Branite Pass, North West of Fort Wallace. If you stand on the railway bridge, you will see a small ledge leading behind a part of the waterfall. Walk behind the waterfall to find this hap. Huge thanks to Matthew Carr for the submission.
