Story related and can’t be missed. To beat the boss, hit his hat mid-air and use it to jump above him. Groundpound on his head three times to get your Moons.
Pretty hard to miss this one. It is on the back of the giant Nessie looking creature in the water. I used a Cheep I took over to get it but you can probably swim to it with Mario as well.
In the same area with as the second Moon there are some carved out squares under the water. Inside those squares, you can find another Moon waiting for you.
You can get this one super early. Right on the beach near the Odyssey, you can see some glowing sand. Groundpound it and the Moon will come to the surface.
You might get this while you are going through the main mission. When you remove the zipper to get to the main plaza of the area you will have to swim through an underwater tunnel. Instead of going left, go right and at the end, there is a chest with a Moon in it.
You have to clear the main objective before the fishing Lakatu spawns here. When it does, take it over and you can see some fish moving under the water and beneath the sand. Go for the big one and when the controller rumbles harder than normal pull it up. When it comes out you will get a Moon.
I came across this one by accident. In the Lake near the Plaza, you will want to take over a Cheep Cheep and swim to this location. Jump out of the water on this little island and get to the water in the center. You will get a Moon from the Mermaid there.
Head here on the map and there is a pretty tough challenge. Right before the end, there is a ledge that goes up as you hang off it. At the top, wait for it to lower again and then climb on top of the raiding platform. It will bring you up to a treasure chest with another Moon inside.
As you progress in Super Mario Odyssey you will hit another roadblock and have to choose which Kingdom to go to. This time the choice is between SnowKingdom and Beach Kingdom. Check out this Super Mario Odyssey Snow Kingdom Or Beach Kingdom Guide and find out where you should go first.
