As you explore the world of Ni No Kuni 2 you may encounter locked blue and gold chests. This guide will tell you How To Unlock Locked Chests In Ni No Kuni 2 so that you are able to collect and unlock the rewards within the chest as you progress through the game. You won’t be able to unlock locked chests until later in the game so when you encounter them in the wild prior to that point, it’s a good idea to take a mental note so you can return later.

You must have reached the Kingdom Building element of the game. Once you have unlocked the ability to build your kingdom, you need to construct the Evermore Spellworks and then recruit Citizens to have a high IQ.

You then need to upgrade the Evermore Spellworks to Facility Level 3. This can be quite time consuming as you also have to upgrade your castle and progress quite far in the game to be able to do it. Once you have upgraded the Evermore Spellworks to Facility Level 3, you can then learn the spell for How To Unlock Locked Chests In Ni No Kuni 2.

Check the research list and look for Specific Spell Dev: Spring Lock. You need to fully research that. Once you have it researched, you are able to unlock the special blue and gold chests on your travels.
