The Mastermind Button Puzzle is a dynamic puzzle, meaning the exact solution can be different for each player depending on the number of times the puzzle has been attempted and failed. As such, it’s not easy to provide the exact solution in a simple fashion but there are still techniques to make it very simple.
We Happy Few Mastermind Button Puzzle Guide
There are 4 different buttons on the wall hidden behind the picture. There is also a small lever in the lower right corner labeled “Block C”. In order to solve the puzzle you must correctly identify the symbol for each of the buttons before pulling the lever. If you fail more than 3 times, the puzzle will reset and the solution will change. Each button can be pressed multiple times, changing the symbol above the button. There are four different symbols.Step One
Press each button until all buttons have the star symbol in place. You should have four star symbols, one showing above each button. Once you have all four chosen, pull the lever in the bottom right. Once the lever is pulled you will see lights above the buttons change. Red means that symbol is incorrect, green means it is correct. In my version of the puzzle, only the very last button was the star symbol.
Step Two
Keep the button that was the correct symbol but change the other three to the next symbol. As you can see above, I left the right button on the star symbol, as that was correct. I then changed the other three buttons to the circular symbol. This time, two of them were correct. With two attempts left, I just change the last button to the two remaining symbols to see what works.
