As an example, on the day I decided to look at the Hot Item list, it was a Frying Pan. You can check Hot Items by looking at the bulletin board outside of Nooks Cranny store. It will tell you what the Hot Item of the day is. If you bring a Hot Item to the store and sell it, they will give you double the usual price. That turns a 1500 Frying Pan into 3000 Bells, not bad for a couple of bits of iron.
You must sell the items to Timmy inside the store. If you place them in the deposit box outside, it will not count towards the Hot Item sale so it will sell for regular amounts. I’m not sure if there is a limit. I sold 6 Frying Pans on the same day and each Frying Pan was worth double, the full 3000 Bells.
