This is, by far, the most difficult and challenging stage of The Fisherman’s Gambit to date. Not only is the bait pricey but the fish is incredibly strong and will often break the line when trying to pull it in. Before you dive into it, you need to stock up on Sardines, lots of Sardines. Thankfully you can buy them in Seafront, which is not far from where you’ll be fishing to catch your Blue Marlin.
Where To Catch Blue Marlin In NieR Replicant Ver1.22
If you want to catch the Blue Marlin you need to fish on the same pier the old man is standing on in Seafront, the Fisherman that gives you the Fisherman’s Gambit quest. Blue Marlin are very difficult to catch, they are easily the hardest fish you’ve had to catch up until this point. They take a long time to catch, sometimes a couple of minutes, and can easily break the line if you pull in the wrong direction.
Furthermore, Sharks are a problem. Sharks are also caught here with Sardine bait, so the vast majority of the time you’re going to be catching Sharks instead of the Blue Marlin. It’s a true test of patience but if it helps you get through it, there’s only one more fishing quest after this one.
