Ancient Armory is a side quest in Horizon Zero Dawn that has one of the best outfits in the game as a reward, but it’s a bit tricky. This Horizon Zero Dawn Power Cell Locations Guide will tell you where to find all of the Power Cell’s so you can complete the Ancient Armory quest and get the Shield Weaver Outfit.
Where To Find The Power Cells In Horizon Zero DawnInitially it appears you only need two power cores to open access to the Ancient Armory but you actually need five. These are scattered throughout the game world and some of them can actually be missed, drastically increasing the length of time you need to wait before you can access the Shield Weaver Outfit. Check below for a list of where to find the Power Cells in Horizon Zero Dawn that we’ve discovered so far.
The first two Power Cells are used to open the door. Look at the machine at the end of the Power Cells and it will give you times, you need to move the Power Cells to match the times on the display. Once you’re inside you need a further three Power Cells to open the unit containing the outfit.
The first Power Cell in Horizon Zero Dawn can be found relatively early in the game. As soon as you are able to free roam in Mother’s Embrace there is a ruin on the South side of the area, it’s the ruin you explore as a young Aloy. Once you are able to enter the ruins you need to find a room that is blocked by thin, pointy rock formations. You are now able to destroy these rocks to open the rooms they blocked previously.
Below are two screenshots showing where to find the first Power Core in Horizon Zero Dawn inside the ruins.
The second Power Cell in Horizon Zero Dawn can be found very early in the game as well, however you can miss this. It is within the mountain behind Mother’s Watch. After you finish the Proving you awake within the mountain during a story segment. If you complete this area without finding the second Power Core, you cannot get it until a mission near the end of the game titled The Heart of the Nora. So make sure you find where to find the second Power Cell in Horizon Zero Dawn before leaving the mountain.
You need to head into the small vent/opening and walk through to the area that features the second Power Cell in Horizon Zero Dawn.
The third Power Cell can be found at the very top of the tower. You need to climb the F.A.S building up to the top, not far from Faro’s Office at the end of the mission. Look to the East of the office and you’ll see another tower. The Power Cell is at the top of the tower.
From there take a left and climb up the wall. Head into the interior area here and you can find the fifth Power Cell on the shelving units against the wall.
