The Boar Hunt quest tasks you with finding a Wild Boar. This guide on Where To Find The Wild Boar In NieR Replicant Ver1.22 will walk you through finding this dreaded beast so you can complete the quest and unlock your very own mount (sort of) – a must-have in a game with so much walking.
After you complete the introductory section of the game, once you have met Grimoire Weiss and spoken with Popola about curing your sister, you will unlock the ability to take on side quests from people in and around your village and other areas in the game. Some of them are really quick, simply gathering materials or buying items, while others will be a bit more challenging. This particular quest is one of the first you should complete as it allows you to unlock a faster travel option.
Where To Find The Wild Boar In NieR Replicant Ver1.22
You get the Boar Hunt quest speaking with the old man in the village who sits on a crate next to the Item Shop. Once you have the quest, leave town and head for the Northern Plains, this is the location of the Wild Boar.
In the North West corner of the Northern Plains, there’s a cliff side right on the edge of the map. It’s directly South West of the entrance to the Forest of Myth. Head in that direction but travel more towards the entrance to the Aerie. Don’t travel to the Aerie but instead head North, you will see a cliff edge on the map, marked by a wavy white line.
The boar sits atop that part of the cliff. Simply approach the Wild Boar, engage in combat, and take it down. Its a rough fight. One wrong move and you’re dead. The easiest option is to use your LB/L1 attack, the one that throws a dark spear like object. This will stop the boar charging and recovers quick enough that you can spam it, locking the boar in place.
Once you have killed the boar, return the quest. You will then find sleeping boars outside of most major settlements. Simply approach them and mount them to get to the next area much quicker.
