Where To Learn Magic Spells In Dark Souls 3

Where To Learn Magic Spells In Dark Souls 3
Much like the other Dark Souls games, Dark Souls 3 requires you to find a Sorcerer in order to learn new spells. The Sorcerer is hidden in the game world and can easily be missed for those not looking. Check out this guide to find out Where To Learn Magic Spells In Dark Souls III!

Where To Learn Spells In Dark Souls 3

You will have to get a couple hours into the game and beat the second boss in order to unlock the Sorcerer. You can get two spells from the default Shrine Handmaiden as well. She will sell Soul Arrow and Farron Dart, both basic tier Sorcery Spells. These are more for people who are looking to try out magic more then anything else. Anyways you find the Sorcerer in the area after you beat Vordt of the Boreal Valley. If you have already beat the boss then you will want to warp to the Bonfire at the Foot Of The High Wall.

Head down the stairs until you see a gate start to open. Wait for the dogs to come out and kill all the Undead then you go kill the dogs. Instead of going through the gate, look down to the other end of the path and go towards the other opening with all the dead Pilgrims. Be careful on your way there, behind the tipped cart are two dogs waiting to ambush. When you get to the area with all the dead Pilgrims someone will start to talk. On the right side of the area you can see one Pilgrim slightly moving. You may want to look for the staff moving more then the body. Talk to him and he will introduce himself as Yoel and offer his aid.

Accepting Yoel’s Services In Dark Souls 3

Yoel is a Sorcerer from Anor and will help you learn new spells if you let him. By accepting his help, he will join you back art the Firelink Shrine and you will gain access to his magic. He can teach you Soul Arrow, Heavy Soul Arrow, Magic Weapon and Magic Shield to start off with. He also has the ability to Draw Out True Strength, which gives you an additional stat point. This comes at the cost of him putting a Dark Sigil on you which makes you more hollow. You basically start to look Undead and lose a portion of your Max HP I believe. The price to heal the Sigil is what a level would cost you anyways so it isn’t really worth it in the long run.

There is an option to decline his help as well but so far I don’t see a point in that unless you want to kill him. If he goes crazy and kills everyone in Firelink Shrine I will be sure to update.

Update – He seems to have randomly died when I healed my Dark Sigils. I’m not sure if someone else did it or he died because I healed them.
