Dragon Ball Xenoverse
Dragon Ball XenoVerse is a fighting role-playing game set within the long-running Dragon Ball universe, and the first Dragon Ball game to be released on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Developed by Dimps and published by Bandai Namco Games, Dragon Ball XenoVerse takes players to familiar locations in the Dragon Ball universe and revisits iconic fights from the franchise.
Dragon Ball XenoVerse allows players to create their own custom avatar, who fights alongside Trunks, and participate in famous battles from the Dragon Ball series. Apart from this, the game also features a completely original storyline that focuses on the villains Towa and Mira, and their attempts to manipulate history. Towa is an android trying to becoming the strongest creature in the universe, while Towa is a dark scientist from a demonic world.
Character customization is deep and offers the choice of five races: Saiyans, Namekians, Earthlings, Majins and Frieza Clansman, each of which have their pros and cons. Players can choose other attributes of their avatar, including race, gender, facial hair, body features, clothing and voice. Another new feature in the game is the option for the player avatar to take on one of the original Dragon Ball characters as their master, allowing the player character to learn the master’s abilities, and even possibly resulting in the master coming to the player’s aid in battle.
Apart from creating a custom avatar, new features to the game include the “enigmatic and futuristic” Toki Toki City, where a mysterious, dormant clock has started to tick again. Toki Toki City serves as the main hub for the game and is where players can choose to access the online multiplayer component of the game through which they can travel through time and take part in co-operative missions. Apart from Toki Toki City, players can travel to other places on the series’ rendition of Planet Earth, and fight in epic battles on land, sea and air. Players can roam the vast levels, or visit interesting new locales, such as Time Vault and a city with a Time Machine landed on it.
