PayDay 2
PayDay 2 is a shooter that continues an extremely successful game of 2011. The Swedish studio it belongs to, Overkill Software, decided to heed the advice of the game’s faithful fans and put their suggestions into practice, thus creating what everyone truly desired. PayDay 2 is a gangster shooter played from first person perspective. The players play as members of an organized gang in the city of Washington. The plot revolves around the series of difficult and dangerous missions the gangsters receive from the CRIMENET system.
The quests and targets are very differentiated and never get boring as every game turns out to be different than all the previous ones. Apart from typical robberies and assaults, the players can also engage in kidnappings and drug transportation. Up to four players at a time can play one mission and, which I think is a match, there are four classes to choose from, all perfect when combined together. Mastermind, Enforcer, Ghost and Technician each have their own set of skills to develop and a specific type of equipment to use.
Before you set out on a mission, you can visit a special store to spend the money earned through the robberies. You can buy things like passcodes for the doors you will encounter or a quick helicopter escape from the scene of crime. PayDay 2 is mostly about cooperation. You can barely achieve anything without a well-knit team of friends or at least a decent, communicative set of strangers. Communication is crucial for developing strategies and sharing the work in order not to get caught. It is not only poor civilians who our bandits come across. They also have to face guards, policemen, FBI agents and even SWAT units.
