Described as a “Rogue-Zelda” by the development team, Screambox Studio and Zodiac Interactive’s Ancient Abyss will come to Steam in 2019.
In this title, players will traverse a randomly generated maze as they set out to gain more power and collect new items. The battle and permadeath mechanics found in roguelikes has been combined with the exploration and discovery found in Nintendo’s 2D Zelda games. The game utilizes 2D pixel art, and smooth animation and dynamic lighting have been included.
